As the days get shorter and the air gets colder, we all want a getaway to an exciting, new place. It seems with the spooky season our local ghouls are stretching their legs and seeing the world, too! From werewolves in Williamsburg to phantoms in Florence, we’ve had some exceptionally spine-chilling visitors this October.
What do these macabre members have to say about their visits? Read their reviews to find out.
A Bewitching Stay at Woodford Bridge Country Club
Nestled cozily in the rustic English countryside of Devon, Woodford Bridge Country Club’s 15th century design tends to attract fans of vintage style – and in this case, a rather vintage-styled visitor. She swept into check-in (almost literally) with a broomstick and a suitcase in hand, claiming that she’d just “flown in.” However, the bellman didn’t spot any airline tags on her luggage. After Ms. Sybil Spellman had settled in, other guests spotted her taking long walks on the beautiful grounds, visiting the nearby gardens and chatting with the local birds. Everyone who crossed paths with her seemed to have a run of good luck soon after, too.

An Out-of-Body Experience at Polo Towers Suites
This unique vacationer requested an after-hours check-in – not uncommon in a city as full of hustle and bustle as Las Vegas. As she drifted into the elevator with her room key, the front desk manager felt a bit of a chill down her spine. We didn’t see too much of Ms. Phoebe Phantom until the next evening when she requested to book tickets to a Las Vegas magic show and floated out the door to enjoy the nightlife. After her departure, housekeeping found Ms. Phantom was the neatest guest they’d ever seen! It was as if she’d never touched a thing in her suite.

Shaking the Dust Off at Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort
We get all kinds of outdoorsy folks at Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort. Between the lake, the mountains and the breathtaking forest, there’s quite a lot to do during every season. So when Maryann “Mumsie” Miller strode up to check-in with a bike helmet on and hiking boots slung over her shoulder, we knew what she had planned. “I feel like I’ve been under a rock for a thousand years!” she said, as we completed her check-in paperwork, “I can’t wait to get outside and feel alive again.” Mumsie was in and out on mountain adventures throughout her stay, and she checked out with a smile and a touch of sunburn. Strangely, we did find traces of sand in her room.

A Bloody Good Time at Alpine Club
High, high up in the Austrian Alps, a guest requested an exceptionally late check-in. He entered the foyer dramatically, sweeping his large black coat against the chilly air. He was a tall, pale-faced man with dark hair and a wide, toothy grin. He inquired about recommendations for a nearby restaurant that served the very best rare steak, as he was hungry after his long journey. Mr. Vlad Travelov received his answer (and his room key) and flourished his way to his room. Mr. Travelov seemed to enjoy the Austrian nightlife, as we did not see much of him during daylight hours.

A Bone-afide Getaway at Cabo Azul Resort
It was a beautiful, sunny day when Mr. Benjamin Bones (a rather thin man) checked in for his 5-day stay at Cabo Azul Resort. He was all teeth as we finished his arrival paperwork, and he glanced around at the palm trees. “I’ve needed to loosen up these old joints for a while,” he commented, “I might have to try out your spa.” Over the next few days, we saw him lounging by the pool with a frosty glass of milk and putting some meat on his bones thanks to the delicious menu at Javier’s. He even got in a round of golf at one of the stunning courses nearby. He departed with a wave and his signature grin, though he strangely didn’t acquire a tan – even after hours of sunbathing. In his room, he left us this review:

No matter if you’re a werewolf or a witch, a ghoul or a ghost, our resorts are ready to make your stay exactly what you need to get out of your daily haunts. So escape your crypt and visit somewhere spook-tacular! After all, without a little vacation, we all turn into monsters.
We wish you a happy and safe Halloween.
