Grab the whole family for some great music and a few laughs on the latest #DiamondLIVE @ Home concert, featuring Sara Evans and her “quarantine band.”
The country singer-songwriter brought her family along to sing backup vocals and accompany her on the guitar while she took over the Diamond Resorts Facebook page for a virtual concert on Thursday, August 6, 2020.
“At first we were kind of nervous about doing these virtual shows because we can’t see our audience, but we know you’re out there watching,” said Evans. “The great thing is that none of us have to wear pants anymore, all we have to worry about is picking out a semi-cute shirt.”
Jokes aside, Evans recently released her first-ever cover album, “Copy That,” which features some of the most iconic country and pop songs from the last six decades. During the live show, she sang acoustic renditions of two tracks from the new album with “Crazy Love” by Poco and “If I Can’t Have You” by the Bee Gees.
She also treated the live audience to a few of her original hits, singing fan-favorites “A Real Fine Place to Start,” “A Little Bit Stronger” and “Suds in the Bucket.”
Between the songs and giggles with the family, Evans answered a few questions about her favorite vacation spots, what kind of music she’s been listening to lately and her favorite memory from the 2001 Girls’ Night Out tour, which featured top female country music idols, including Reba McEntire and Martina McBride.
“Every night we would come out and do the encore with Reba McEntire, so what could be better than that?” said Evans. “To be able to sing with one of my idols was just absolutely amazing… it was the best part of every show.”
