Traveling single doesn’t mean you’re stuck traveling without a social life. There are plenty of cities around the world that are great for dating while traveling. In a recent interview with USA Today, the chief executive officer of LastingConnections.net, a matchmaking service that specializes in clients who travel, listed 10 of the best cities to find love on the road.
We easily guessed a few of them – Paris is the city of love, so of course it was on the list, along with New York City, which has more than 8.5 million residents (hello, options). We expected Los Angeles to make the list and weren’t surprised to see Milan, the fashion capital of Italy on there. But there were a few locations that took us by surprise. Take Scottsdale, Arizona, for example.
Now don’t get us wrong, we love Scottsdale. Located in the Greater Phoenix area, Scottsdale is a desert gem full of posh restaurants, spas, golf courses and shopping. It features plenty of Old West charm and embraces the Southwestern culture.
Diamond Resorts has two resorts in the city: Scottsdale Links Resort and Scottsdale Villa Mirage. They’re both fantastic properties for a Scottsdale vacation, located near several premier golf courses, including the TPC Desert Golf Course. Scottsdale Links Resort features extra spacious rooms, while Scottsdale Villa Mirage has comfortable, updated amenities. Diamond has a deal right now that lets you stay three nights at a partner property and tour Scottsdale Villa Mirage for just $299, which is great because it gives you a quick taste of the city. Of course, terms apply to the deal, but it provides just enough time for you to explore the outdoors or head downtown for the vibrant nightlife.
Again, we love Scottsdale. But it didn’t necessarily come to the front of our minds when we thought of cities that are conducive to dating while traveling. After seeing it on the USA Today list, it totally makes sense.
Scottsdale is active. There are almost endless outdoor activities to choose from, including golf, hiking and sports games. It has a fresh bar and restaurant scene, and plenty of trendy shopping centers. In the USA Today article, the chief executive officer of LastingConnections.net called Scottsdale a “mini Los Angeles.” Scottsdale may be a little warmer during the summer, but overall, we agree.
Whether you’re looking to eat, drink, play, explore, relax – or yes, fall in love – Scottsdale seems to have it all. So if you’re single and traveling, why not check it out?
