Colt Ford always jokes that when fans see him, they instantly think: male model.
But when did the country rap innovator realize his calling?
Soon after being born, he revealed during the latest #DiamondLIVE @ Home event on Thursday, May 14, 2020.
“I can show you some baby pictures and you’d be like, ‘This kid is so good looking,’” Ford joked. “I mean like, you just knew. I started looking in the mirror and was like, this is pretty good.”
Ford joined Diamond Resorts CEO Mike Flaskey on the Diamond Resorts Instagram for a live chat about life during the pandemic, the current state of the music industry and how they have been working on their golf games.
Ford was the first country artist to join Diamond Resorts as a celebrity ambassador and helped the company create the Diamond Live concert series. Over the years, he has performed countless exclusive shows for members, and is hoping to get back to performing soon.
“Music and live music means so much to people,” Ford said. “It transcends a lot of politics and religion and stuff that’s going on in the world, and it’s a time to get out and have fun and enjoy music, whoever the artist is that you like. It’s a weird time.”
Ford brought facts and laughs to the stream when answering fan questions about his journey through the music industry. He talked about the birth of his hit song “Dirt Road Anthem,” which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard U.S. Hot Country Songs list for Jason Aldean’s rendition in 2011, and creating his own record label, Average Joes Entertainment.
