Ever wondered what it would be like to meet your childhood heroes?
Travis Tritt has first-hand experience with not only meeting his heroes from classic country music, but performing with them too.
In this edition of Moments with Diamond, we welcome the newest Diamond Celebrity music ambassador to the stage and learn a little bit about his career and what he’s excited about with this new partnership. Tritt performed his first #DiamondLIVE concert in Orlando, Florida on December 15, 2020, to a limited group of socially distanced Diamond members.
“This is something we’ve been talking about and thinking about and looking forward to for a very very long time,” said Tritt. “I’m just proud to be associated with Diamond Resorts, and proud to be able to get up and show the folks some of the things that maybe they’ve never seen from me before.”
Diamond Live shows provide a uniquely intimate experience for both musicians and guests, with a small audience of Diamond members and invited guests enjoying a private concert. Tritt performed solo, without his usual bandmates up there with him, treating the audience to a rare stripped-down set from the Class of ’89 country superstar.
“It’s just me and a guitar,” said Tritt. “When I do performances like this, even though I don’t get a chance to do them very often, it always feels like it’s not a show. It’s more relaxed, it’s more intimate, and it feels like I’m playing music to my family or my friends in my living room.”
As part of country music’s Class of ’89, Tritt and his colleagues set a new precedent for country music and gave the industry a new direction leading into the next century. Now, he has become the “hero” for other musicians, the way he looked up to his predecessors in country music. Tritt was also inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 1992, which makes him the first Diamond Celebrity ambassador to hold this prestigious honor in the music industry.
Tritt has been recording his first album in over 13 years – with a new single coming soon – and the album is set to release in May 2021.
